Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra announced that the final draft of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act, or CAA, is anticipated to be completed by March 30 next year. Mishra made this statement while addressing a gathering of the Matua community in Thakurnagar, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.

He further stated, "The process to implement the CAA has gained momentum in the last couple of years, and some issues are being addressed. Nobody can deprive the Matuas of their citizenship rights."
