Uttar Pradesh: AMU Doctoral Fellow Farhan Zuberi Arrested by Aligarh Police

Farhan Zuberi, a doctoral fellow at Aligarh Muslim University, was arrested by the Aligarh Police on 22nd September. Zuberi was a prominent student union leader at the university, actively involved in leading protests against Hindu nationalist policies.

Zuberi has been booked in several sections of IPC including 147, 148, 384, 323, 304, 307, etc. Student activists at AMU perceive this recent arrest as an attempt to stifle dissenting voices in anticipation of the 2024 elections.
