Haryana: Lecture on Palestinian conflict at university made controversial by BJP associates

A lecture titled "History and Politics of the Palestinian Present," aimed at discussing the complexities of Israel’s war on Gaza, was organized at a private university in Haryana's Sonepat. This event drew attention and sparked controversy when certain BJP leaders shared video clips of the lecture, alleging that it expressed support for Hamas, the Palestinian militant group.

In response to these allegations, a spokesperson from O P Jindal Global University came forward to refute the claims, stating that the video clips circulating online were taken out of context. The spokesperson emphasized that the lecture was intended to provide a nuanced understanding of the historical and political dynamics shaping the Palestinian situation, rather than endorsing any specific political faction or militant group.
