Telangana: Police constable brutally assaults Muslim man
A 26-year-old Muslim man, Mohammad Sami Khan, was subjected to a brutal beating by a constable from Chaderghat Police station in Rasoolpura, Hyderabad, Telangana, on October 21. Khan was being chased and physically assaulted by the constable while another officer follows closely behind. Khan pleaded for mercy as the constable continued to strike him with a baton.
Sustaining injuries on his face and hands, Khan was allegedly run over by the constable's motorcycle before the assault. Despite Khan's cousin, Syed Mustafa Abid, witnessing and
documenting the incident, the police station did not register their complaint. The family asserts that Khan's Muslim identity is the reason for the unwarranted targeting by the police.
