Gujarat: NIA files chargesheet against Muslim youths alleging links to Al-Qaeda

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet against five individuals in Gujarat for their alleged involvement in illegal entry, fundraising, and recruitment for a pan-Islamist militant organization, Al Qaeda.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had initially identified the suspects for allegedly illegally infiltrating India through the Indo-Bangladesh border, using forged identity documents. Subsequent investigations by the ATS uncovered strong connections to Al-Qaeda. The case was subsequently transferred to the NIA on June 19.
