Karnataka: Visually impaired elderly Muslim man kidnapped, forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram," assaulted and his beard partially burned.
Hussain Saab, a blind man in his 70s, was assaulted and forced to chant 'Jai Sri Ram' by two young adults on the outskirts of Gangavathi city, Karnataka. The incident occurred when Saab was walking from a nearby village, Hospet at midnight because the auto fare he was asked to pay was expensive. He was kidnapped by miscreants who assaulted him, pushed him to the ground, and dragged him by his legs, causing severe injuries in his back. The miscreants also attempted to chop his beard using a broken glass bottle and burnt it. Saab was taken to a shelter, where his daughter chose not to file any case. The Social Democratic Party of India visited Saab and filed a complaint, but the police refused to comply. Saab was hospitalized three days after the incident.
